Monday πŸ—“

So, yesterday as already decided was up to SALT to see it. Wow what a thing. It is massive. I don't mean bigger than normal, I mean this thing is massive huge. You definitely can't carry it around πŸ€ͺ🀣. I wonder what they have found with it πŸ€” πŸ›ΈπŸŒπŸŒœπŸŒ πŸŒŒ✨πŸŽ‡πŸŽ†. It really is an impressive piece of equipment.
I get back, and without informing the boss man I was staying another night they had planned a party for that day. Oh πŸ’©. Yip DJ and all and all. It was just kicking off when I returned. Oh well not much I could do. It was lekka slap Afrikaans music all afternoon until about 9 when they closed up. The plus side is the boss lady brought me a plate of πŸ‘ they had braaied. Man it was good. 10 points to the chef. It went down like the titanic 🚒.
Today... up. Shower. It washed all the cobwebs and bad karma right away. Squeaky clean and ready to roll it was off. 9kms to the turn off to Merweville. Dirt road. No complaints. I have the correct equipment 🚲. It couldn't have been more perfect. Fair tailwind. Not too hot. Not too bumpy. Not too sandy. Not too corrugated. Not too hilly. Not too much traffic. None actually. Think the last time someone used this road was before C19. It was fun. I enjoyed every second until... 😳😲🀯. I couldn't believe it. Believe it because it is true. Are you sure? To be sure to be sure.
In front of me was the Karoo. Another side to it. More beautiful. More picturesque. The eyes were taking it all in. I was happy I learnt about this route from the elderly man I met a few days ago. It is sublime. I rode on, stopping now and again to take it all in. Photo credit.. me.
I descended the pass cautiously. Some parts were very steep with loose gravel. It was fun and a little scary. Eventually it flattened out and all that was to be done was the 60km ride to Merweville. It was an outstanding ride. One I will never forget. Maybe my best ride to date. Definitely top 2️⃣.
I get to Merweville. Well what a πŸ’©πŸ•³. I mean this place was 🚽. I see a fella standing outside a building. It has closed doors. I ask where I can buy a πŸ₯€ and a 🍫. He informs me at this very place. However it only reopens at πŸ•‘pm. It is a 1️⃣/4️⃣ to and my bum has started aching again so I decide to sit and wait outside. On time the doors open and I acquire my goods. Done, I feel there is more to achieve today. I get back up and manage another 5️⃣⭕ odd kms.
And here I lay. Under a bridge about 30kms away from Prince Albert. My destination for tomorrow. It should be a simple task and I may even get there in time for πŸ₯“πŸ³πŸ₯šπŸ₯žπŸž. It has been a really good day. I have enjoyed it tremendously. I am so grateful to be on this trip. Sometimes sleeping under a bridge is part of the gig. It is a little scary but I feel safe(ish).
I hope you have all had a good Monday. I thank you again for reading and being part of my journey, our journey. I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I know the real world is calling and I will get to it. But for now "this is where I need to be".
Peace out all. Look after each other for me until I get back.
Chat soon.
